Here is how we do it - From start to finish..
We need a plan!
Sometimes it is hard to imagine final look or placement of items in the room especially when we move walls or do other major structural changes. That's where we come up to you with 3D design that will help you to see proposed plan changes in more realistic view. See it, make any changes if needed and we can get started! |
1. First step to make sure your house stays as clean during entire project as possible. If more than one room is affected all items will be removed from the room and whatever is left or difficult to move will be covered. We use temporary carpet film protector that keeps you carpet clean and safe until the end of the project. |
2. Time for demolition. We carefully remove old tile, vanity cabinets, bathtub or shower base, toilet, tile undelayment and walls if necessary. It all depends on size of the project. |
In this case we are going to expand the bathroom and that involves moving some of the walls, moving all plumbing to new a location and re-doing all electrical in the bathroom. |
Here we have removed all drywall. That includes walls and ceiling. Some walls were removed as well.
3. Ok, let's move things around a little bit. We are going to build custom shower base in new the location and we will have wall mounted faucets. That will require some major plumbing changes.
4. Before we can do that we will have to build new walls.
5. Here are some pictures after we moved all plumbing and electrical. |
6. New shower base shape and size is marked on the floor and its ready to be built. All plumbing is in place and tested for leaks. |
7. We have a new recessed lights, outlets, switches in new location and new exhaust fan. |
8. It is time to build shower base and cover the walls. We have installed extra plywood layer on the floor to make it stronger. |
9. I think we are in good shape to start laying down some tile. We will combine tile and granite in shower area. We will use granite slab on top of the shower seat and on tho top of shower threshold. We will start with floor and will work from there up. |

10. It's always a good idea to protect the new floor. We need to be really careful here because the stone we used can be scratched very easily. Let's install the rest of the tile and see how it looks. |
11. We can also install all plumbing fixtures and get all work finished. That includes all finish carpentry and painting. |
All done!
We have bigger bathroom with large beautiful shower with three way Hansgrohe valve. You can see regular shower head on the left, rain shower head dropped from the ceiling and handheld unit by the shower seat for convenient use.
Extra wide wall niche will be a big plus. Granite in the shower matches vanity counter top and ties everything together. |
Missing anything? That's right! Shower without the shower door is not a good shower. You can see the shower door in the picture bellow. I hope you have enjoyed "behind the scenes" tour and that you like the outcome.
